Wellington Water has major pipe work coming up in Tory and Jessie Streets - from 23 June-4 July. Traffic changes are involved.

Jessie Street and Tory Street
Kia ora,
Wellington Water, on behalf of Wellington City Council, are realigning a wastewater pipe that was wrongly connected to the stormwater system when it was installed many years ago.
This work will require digging a trench from Jessie Street into Tory Street, realigning the pipe so it correctly connects into the wastewater main, and installing new manholes, while avoiding other critical underground services such as electrical and telecommunications lines.
This means that from Monday 23 June to Friday 4 July:
The intersection of Jessie Street and Tory Street will be completely closed to traffic
Signage will direct vehicles to detour around this intersection
Jessie Street will be closed to vehicles except for residents, who will need to enter/exit at Taranaki Street
Pedestrian access will be unaffected
Work will take place 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
Due to the nature of the work, there will be noise and vibration. We are working overnight to reduce the amount of time the road needs to be closed.
Once work on Tory Street is completed, the intersection with Tory Street will be re-opened. Jessie Street will remain closed except to residents while the remaining work is completed for about another week. We will let you know more about that once we can confirm the exact dates for this.
Completing this work will protect our harbour from contamination by untreated wastewater and increase the resilience of our water network.
