Wendy McGuinness, BCom, MBA, FCA, is the founder and chief executive of the McGuinness Institute in Wellington. Wendy established the Institute in 2004 as a way of contributing to New Zealand’s long-term future. She has attended five World Future Society Conferences in Washington DC, Chicago, Boston, Vancouver and San Francisco.
Wendy has undertaken study on “Futuring” with Dr Peter Bishop, Futures Studies, University of Houston, and on “Wiser Futures: Using Futures Tools to Better Understand and Create the Future” with Dr Clement Bezold, founder of the Institute for Alternative Futures.
She is the current chair of the New Zealand Chapter of the World Future Society and holds membership in the World Future Society and Future Thinking Aoteaora. Wendy has also been co-convenor of Sustainable Aotearoa New Zealand and a board member of the New Zealand Futures Trust.
Wendy will present some progressive ideas and challenges for an inner-city community to consider as it moves through the 21st Century and beyond.
